Independence Day cocktails, here are 6 fun patriotic drinks!


July 4th is a time for celebration and fun, filled with fireworks, parades and of course, the quintessentially American backyard barbecue. Why not guarantee a great time at this year's gathering by mixing up some patriotic cocktails? Cold beer may be the standard sipper alongside your grilled feast, but we're thinking these fun drinks could quickly become Independence Day favorites for years to come!

6 deliciously patriotic drink recipes


Patriotic Margarita


Frozen strawberries
2 T dark rum
2 T coconut milk
2 T pineapple juice
2 T lime juice
1/2 cup crushed ice
2-4 T Hpnotiq


Puree thawed frozen strawberries. Blend strawberry puree, dark rum, coconut milk, pineapple juice, fresh lime juice, and crushed ice in a blender until smooth. Pour Hpnotiq into a glass, top with 2 to 4 tablespoons of the strawberry mixture.

Yankee Doodle

1 part blue raspberry flavored vodka
2 parts sour mix or lemonade
1 part tonic water
Pour into rocks glass, stir. Serve over ice.




4 oz champagne
1/4 oz gin
1/2 oz Peach Schnapps
Pour into champagne flute, garnish with a twist of orange.



Patriotic Punch

2 parts Two Gingers Whiskey

1 part DeKuyper Apricot Brandy

1 Part Cranberry Juice

2 Parts Champagne



To serve as a cocktail: build all ingredients over ice in a stem less red wine glass or large tumbler. Garnish with a lemon wheel. Or if you want to get REAL fancy cut some pineapple into star shapes and sprinkle some blueberries in the punch.


To serve as a punch: Double the recipe and multiply by the number of guests you plan to serve. Add the Whiskey, apricot Brandy and cranberry juice to a punch bowl and refrigerate. When guests arrive add Champagne and lemon wheels serve over ice in stem less red wine glasses or large tumblers.


Chambord Pomegranate Sparkler

1 1/2 oz champagne
3/4 oz Chambord
1/2 oz vodka
1 oz pomegranate juice
Shake all ingredients but champagne with ice and strain into flute glass. Top with champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist




All American

1 oz bourbon
1 oz Southern Comfort
2 oz Coca-Cola
Pour in glass over ice. Garnish with a lemon slice.
