Cheers : Preview of Cheers Holiday Wine Tasting Events

Below you will find the preview of this year’s Annual Holiday Wine Tasting Event and Sale to be held Thursday, November 5th from 6pm-8pm at Cheers Bloomington, and Thursday, November 12th from 6pm-8pm at Cheers Chanhassen.



Cheers entire wine inventory* will be discounted 15% all day, both days, at both Cheers locations!

The staff at Cheers personally selected these wines with a focus on holiday entertaining.  We’ve selected some robust reds as well as some whimsical whites, roses, sparklers, and “oddities”.  We hope to see you on either Thursday, November 5th in Bloomington or Thursday November 12th in Chanhassen!

Mark Nordstrom- The Wine Company

J Hofstatter Pinot Grigio 

A classic and very expressive wine, bright straw, yellow in color with an attractive aroma of citrus fruit, peach, and melon.  A great match with fish and seafood.


Pichot Vouvray 100% Chenin Blanc

From the Loire Valley in France, fantastic aroma of spice, pear and a hint of honey showing a little chalkiness with an elegant finish.

Pedroncelli Zin Rose

100% Zinfandel.  Aromas of rose petals, vanilla, and strawberries with flavors showing cherries and red berries.  A perfect match with ham and spicy oriental dishes.

Blau Red Blend

50% Carignane, 25% Syrah, and 25% Garnacha.  Dark fruit aromas and flavors show blueberry and plum, great balance on the palate.  Match with spaghetti, stewed meat, and pork sausage

Cline Pinot Noir

Notes of cedar and lilacs with hints of dark chocolate make this an elegant and complex wine.  Great with lamb, pork, and grilled salmon.

Cline Cashmere Red Blend

A very smooth red that shows cherry, raspberry and chocolate notes.   The finish shows cracked pepper and plums



Matt Anderson- Margron Skoglund

Le Rovole Barbera d'Asti 

Hailing from the Asti region in Northwest Italy, this wine is made from 100% Barbera.  Featuring notes of fresh blackberries, low tannins, and high acidity, pair this red with mushroom risotto or baked root vegetables.

Tre Monti (Campo di Mezzo) 

Rising above the lands known for Parmigiano Reggiano, tortellini, and aged balsamic vinegar, the Tre Monti winery produces wines from organically-farmed vineyards.  Campo di Mezzo is a medium body red made from the Sangiovese grape and aged in stainless steel to retain it’s freshness.

Vina Oropendola Rueda

Originating on the high plains of Rueda in Northwest Spain, this wine is made from one of the country's most respected white grapes, Verdejo.  Coming from vines between 40 and 120 years old produces intense flavors of citrus rind and minerals.  A touch of yeast on the finish is from the two months of aging on the lees.

Sembro Ribera del Duero

Along the banks of the Duero river in North-Central Spain is where you can find the highly regarded wine region of Ribera del Duero.  Sembro is made entirely from the Tempranillo grape (known locally as Tinto Fino).  Notes of red fruits, leather, and dry earth are accompanied by four months of aging in French oak.

Quinta de Santa Eufemia Fine White Porto 

Established in 1864, Quinta de Santa Eufemia has long been respected for their ports.  This white Porto has been aged for 3 years and features notes of honey, lemon meringue, and a hint of caramel.  Mix with tonic water and a wedge of lime for a refreshing cocktail.

Bodegas LAN Crianza 

From the heart of Rioja comes the well known wines of Bodegas LAN.  Constantly aiming for wines that respect both traditional and modern styles of winemaking, this red is crafted from 100% Tempranillo and aged for one year in barrels comprised of both French and American oak, followed by another year in bottle.  Notes of dry cherry, leather, and firm tannins make for a great pairing with Manchego cheese.

Bogle Essential Red

A compelling blend of California’s finest plantings of Old Vine Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah, this wine surpasses all expectation for pure enjoyment.   With rich, enticing layers of complexity, ripe fruit, intense with flavors of boysenberries and sweet cherries and luscious vanilla aromas.  Juicy and silky throughout, with a finish that lingers of black licorice and spicy pipe tobacco.

Michael David Petite Petit

A brilliant blend of 85% Petite Sirah and 15% Petit Verdot, this opaque purple-colored wine exhibits gorgeous aromas of camphor, blueberries, blackberries, licorice, toast and subtle background smoke.  Dark plum, vanilla bean, and a dusting of cocoa powder develop on the palate

Michael David Freakshow Cab

Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grown in Lodi, this delicious, dense purple-colored wine possesses plenty of crème de cassis, licorice, spice box and cedar notes in a medium-to-full-bodied, supple, explosively fruity, fruit-bomb style

Wente Riva Ranch Chardonnay

Displaying the perfect balance of tropical fruit, acidity and creamy notes of butter, vanilla and subtle oak from barrel aging, this Chardonnay has a round mouth-feel and a crisp, long finish.

Santa Rita 120 Moscato

A full expression wine from Limari Valley, the 120 Moscato has a nose with lots of lychee, ginger, white roses, jasmine, ripe fruit and hints of citrical flowers.  On the palate it is delicate and deep with a refreshing finish.

Stella Rosa Bianco

Stella Bianco is a Moscato-based “semi-sweet” wine from the Piedmont region of Italy with a refreshing taste and clean finish.  Sweet but not overly sweet with just enough bubbles, it is great as an aperitif or with light meals.

Ladera Pillow Road Pinot Noir

Russian River Valley - Lush aromas of fresh raspberries and red cherries are highlighted by notes of cola and cinnamon spice. An elegantly balanced wine, the palate is soft and seamless with bright red fruit, sweet supple tannins and juicy acidity.

Villa Cafaggio Chianti Classico

 Italy - rich, full bodied wine with a deep ruby red color. It has an intense fruity aroma with notes of spicy cloves and a wonderfully refined black cherry and plum fruitiness on a long finish

Excelsior Cabernet Sauvignon

South Africa - Big Bang for your buck!  Packed with juicy flavor of blackcurrant, black cherry and plum, with subtle hints of dark chocolate and spice.

Excelsior Chardonnay

 South Africa - Dynamic flavor of green apple, citrus and tropical fruit on a full, creamy palate.  Hints of peach, orange blossom and delicate toasty notes combine with a mineral edge.

A to Z Pinot Gris

Oregon - complex aromatics of lime, kiwi, apple, pear, lemon blossom leading to honey, lychee, mango, grapefruit and tangerine skin. On the palate, the wine is juicy, bright and succulent with lively fruit and mineral notes. Finishes crisp and clean.

Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc + Viognier

California - Aromas of fresh lemon, fuzzy peach, and ripe honeydew melon; mingled with touches of citrus blossom and white tea. The clean, vibrant palate enters with sweet lychee and honeyed tangerine fruits.  Balanced by vibrant acidity and hints of yellow apple and key lime pie that last through the crisp and refreshing finish.

Josh Legacy

 This complex red blend of Merlot, Zinfandel, Syrah, and Petite Sirah contains grapes sourced from Central Coast Counties of California including Lodi, Sonoma, and Napa.


 An Australian red blend of Cabernet and Shiraz, big and bold yet balanced. This wine Scored 90 points with the Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

Cupcake Black Forest

This Central Coast red blend of Cabernet, Merlot, Zinfandel, Petite Verdot and Petite Sirah presents deep flavors of spicy dark cherry with hints of mocha.

Sileni Sauvignon Blanc

From the Marlborough region of New Zealand, this wine bursts with ripe  tropical fruit flavors of grapefruit and melon with  a little zing at the end.... A classic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc

Candoni Moscato

An Italian semi sparkling wine that is very fruity and fragrant. This versatile fresh wine could accompany or finish a holiday meal.

Bolla Prosecco

 Another Italian sparkling wine but a bit drier with ripe fruit flavors of apple, pear,  and peach. Fresh and fruity, great acid and lively a finish.

Murphy Goode Minnesota Cuvee Chardonnay

Minnesota, it’s the land of 10,000 lakes and the homeland of Murphy Goode’s esteemed winemaker Dave Ready Jr. Not so coincidentally, it’s also the source of the American White Oak barrels used to age and ferment this wine.

St. Supery Sauvignon Blanc

Intensely fruity and lightly herbal in flavor, this is a crisp, balanced wine with a very long finish, tasting of pear, grapefruit, guava, pineapple, and lemongrass.

Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages

Clay Arvidson-  The Wine Company

Alexander Valley Vineyards Gewurztraminer

100% Organic.  Classic floral aromas of grapefruit and pear.  Flavors show tropical spice with good minerality.  Pair with spicy dishes and your Holiday Turkey!

Alexander Valley Vineyards Rose

100% Sangiovese.  A light salmon hue with aromas of watermelon and raspberry and flavors of strawberry and raspberry.  Great with grilled shrimp and oriental dishes.

Cline Chardonnay

A  clean and crisp wine with notes of citrus and pineapple, the finish is very smooth with a hint of vanilla.  Pair with shellfish, chicken, and roast pork.

Cline Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

Hahn Merlot

Crisp, clean, fruit forward dry Rose.  Serve with grilled shrimp or as an aperitif.

Lake View White

 Aromatic white wine similar to a medium-dry Alsace Riesling.  Pairs well with grilled chicken or spicy Asian foods.

Brianna Breeze

 This approachable white wine has a delicate nose of pear and citrus and a soft, delicate finish.  Enjoy this wine as an aperitif or with light cheeses.


La Crescent

An intense nose of apricot, peach, and a bit of citrus.  This aromatic white works well on its own or with spicy food.

Barn Quilt Red
