Cheers!
Phil 2011/1/12

During the holiday rush we got a recommendation from two customer/friends, Victol and Linda. They came into Cheers Bloomington looking for one of their favorite liqueurs that (at the time) we didn’t carry; Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur, they told us they mix it with grey goose pear vodka to make an incredible “ginger-pear martini”. I had one of those, “man that sounds good…” moments. As Victol and Linda continued shopping I started working the phones.  As luck would have it the first distributor I called carried the product and it just so happened we were getting a delivery from that distributor the next day! I ordered a few bottles for our order. I let Victol and Linda know wed have it in Bloomington the next day, and voila we discovered a new yummy product! I haven’t gotten around to shaking one of those pear Martinis up yet but thanks to a recommendation from two friends/customers we have a new product on the shelf. Look for it in Bloomington in aisle 6 on the top shelf next to the Cointreau. In Chanhassen its in the liqueuers section, ask Bruce he’ll show you where it is.

Here’s a blurb from the Domaine de Canton website...

Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur was inspired by the French tradition in which sweet and fresh elixirs were fortified by fine eaux de vie and cognac. Named for the ginger estate of Domain de Canton, this aromatic elixir first became popular with the French during colonial Indochina. Inspired by the subtle spiciness of the baby ginger grown there, the French began adding its exotic flavor to eau de vie and Cognac. The recipe of Domain de Canton evokes an era of tropical romance and continental sophistication that is both elegant and timeless.
